Ethiopia Yirgacheffe – a coffee of lightness and elegance

Coffee from Ethiopia is renowned for its distinctive character, aroma and delicate flavour, reflecting the country’s rich coffee traditions. Ethiopia Yirgacheffe is one of Ethiopia’s most renowned coffees, valued for its clean, floral profile and balanced sweet and sour flavour. This coffee is grown in the southern part of the country, in the Yirgacheffe region, at an altitude of over 1800 metres above sea level. The fertile volcanic soil, mild climate and hand-picked coffee berries produce a distinctive flavour that has become a benchmark among high-quality Arabica beans.

After picking, the berries are delivered to the washing station the same day, where they are thoroughly washed and processed. The fermentation process lasts from 12 to 36 hours. This natural process helps to bring out the fruitiness, and drying on raised beds in the sun ensures a clean, clear and aromatic taste.

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe features notes of caramel, lemon and jasmine that blend into an elegant, fresh and clean cup. It is not the strong or bitter coffee that dark roast lovers are used to.
